Burundi Backbone System (BBS) is a burundian telecommunications company operating in the optical-fiber network infrastructure sector. It is an infrastructure operator specializing in the design, construction, operation, technical management and commercialization of services related to very-high-speed optical fiber networks.

Our mission
Through the deployment of its optical fiber network, BBS has set itself the following mission:
• Meet the continuously growing demand for information, communication and Internet services;
• Strengthen the competitiveness of telecommunications operators, Internet service providers and content providers;
• Enable affordable access to ICT services;
• Interconnect all provinces of Burundi in order to significantly contribute to reducing the digital divide and thereby contribute to Burundi’s economic growth.
